Birds of Prey, also referred to as raptors consist of Eagles, Owls, Falcons, Hawks and other birds. Raptors primarily hunt vertebrates. All birds of prey have talons. Talons are different from claws because they are often used for carrying prey. The talons are incredibly sharp and are connected to four muscular toes. Most raptors have three toes point forward but the first digit is positioned toward the back. The beak is used to kill their prey by biting the neck. This birds are incredibly graceful in flight and very protective of their young. We are pleased to present a few of these bird of prey as photography and paintings from various artists.
