Collection: Lighthouse Images
About our Lighthouse Images...Read More
Hey there! If you're into lighthouse images, we've got a killer collection of photos that you're gonna love. Our co-founder took most of these pics while traveling around North Carolina, and they're seriously stunning. We've got 'em in all kinds of formats, from canvas prints to waterproof versions that you can hang on your patio.
Now, we gotta admit, we didn't know much about lighthouses before we started capturing these lighthouse pictures for this project. But dang, did we learn a lot! Turns out, lighthouses have been a crucial part of ship navigation along the East Coast of the US for centuries. These towering structures, with their bright beams of light, have saved countless lives by helping ships steer clear of treacherous waters. The first lighthouses on the East Coast were built back in the late 1700s and early 1800s, and some of 'em are still standing today. These old-school lighthouses were made of brick or stone, and they were usually pretty tall, with the light shining from the tippy-top.
One of the most famous lighthouses on the East Coast is the Boston Light, which was built way back in 1716 and is the oldest lighthouse in the US. Another killer lighthouse is the Cape Hatteras Light in North Carolina. This baby stands a whopping 208 feet tall and is the tallest brick lighthouse in the whole country. You'll find some awesome pics of Cape Hatteras in our collection. But lighthouses aren't just old-timey structures. Nope, there are plenty of modern lighthouses along the East Coast too. These bad boys are often made of steel or concrete and use high-tech stuff like solar panels and LED lights to keep things shining bright.
Even with all the fancy new tech, lighthouses are still super important for keeping ships and sailors safe. They shine a light that can be seen from miles away, guiding ships through all kinds of nasty weather and hazards. Plus, let's be real, lighthouse pictures are just straight-up cool to look at. They've been inspiring artists for generations, and we're sure they'll keep doing so for years to come. Whether you're a salty sea dog or just a sucker for a good view, you gotta check out some of the lighthouses along the East Coast. Trust us, it's worth it. Read Less
