Ray Huffman, Photographer & Digital Artist
Ray Huffman has a variety of artistic ability including photography, digital art and videography. Ray is uniquely qualified to oversee most of the artistic selections for Canvas Art Plus including his own work and that of the photographers and artists that we feature. Landscapes, cityscapes, waterscapes, and portraiture photography and digital art is just some of the genres that is in his portfolio. Ray began his interest in photography shortly after graduation from college. Ray's father bet him one hundred dollars when he got married young that he would never finish college. Upon graduation, Ray collected on the bet and purchased a new Nikon F2 SLR camera, started a black and wide development lab and has been interested in photography ever since. Unknown to Ray until after his father's death, his father had several photos featured in the Columbus Dispatch long before Ray's birth.
In 2001 Ray purchased his first digital camera (Nikon Coolpix 5000) which reinvigorated his interest in photography. Coupled with the earliest versions of Photoshop Ray discovered he could created photographs as he saw them, not that of a lab technician at the local photo processing ship. Over that last 10 years Ray has increased his portfolio of camera equipment and lens using Nikon exclusively and has kept current with state of the art. Ray currently uses a Nikon D810 with a variety of Nikor professional lenses.
Ray's interest in photography subjects is diverse. When not shooting his grandchildren, he enjoys shooting landscapes, cityscapes, and waterscapes. Among his favorite is photographic waters scenes from the North Carolina Outer-banks to waterfalls in Hocking Hills Ohio.
Digital Art - Ray employs a variety of digital methods to manipulate some of his photography into beautiful digital art. Using tools like Photoshop, Lightroom, and Corel Paint and using a digital drawing tablet Ray is able to create digital paintings with the effects of pencil drawings, oil paintings, watercolor and mixed media creations.
